This $29.7 million, 320,000 SF project is part of Orange County’s Comprehensive Needs program. The project included the demolition of most of the existing school structures for the construction of seven (7) new buildings. Several existing buildings required interior/exterior renovation, roofing and “Life Safety” system upgrades for compatibility with the new building systems and to conform to the latest building code requirements. The project was constructed in three phases: Phase 1 included the demolition of several structures and the construction of Administration building, Media building, Cafeteria and Gymnasium nestled within the existing campus. This phase constituted approximately 50% of the project and was completed within an aggressive eleven (11) month time frame ending December 2001. Phase 2 commenced following the coordinated relocation of the user to the new phase 1 buildings and the existing buildings to remain. This phase required the demolition of the remaining buildings and the construction of an Art, Music and Science Laboratory building. The renovation to several existing buildings proceeded during this phase. Phase 3 construction included the final hardscape and site amenities throughout the new and existing facility.
